Chivalry isn't Dead

Don Quixote is a novel by Miguel de Cervantes, who is known to be the greatest writer in the Spanish language, and is credited as Europe's first novelist.

Don Quixote's life was both adventurous and tragic, but this novel sparked a movement which taught the world how men must behave.

Don Quixote de la Mancha (first edition, 1605)

This is a story of paradox, because Don Quixote's themes delved into the following:

  1. Realism vs. Idealism
  2. Truth vs. Lie
  3. Madness vs. Sanity
  4. Love vs. Heroism
I presume that the battles he faced never actually targeted the people. It was targeting the injustices that people face.

His real name is Alonso Quijano, and he didn't have it easy. His adventure began with reading chivalric romances that he lost his mind.

The novel simply deep dives into his journey from illusion to reality.

Don Quixote de la Mancha is commonly known today as
"the knight in shining armor"

He made the world believe in chivalry.

The ideal knight becomes one who has these:
courage, honor, courtesy, justice, and readiness to help the weak.

Don Quixote by Honoré Daumier (1868)

I understand that the battles of 1600s-1800s are completely different compared to that of 2024, but I refuse to believe that chivalry is dead.

Men become good and honorable when they try their best.

To the Don Quixotes: I see you. I respect you. I support you. Keep Going.✌

P.S.

I hope that you have shelters that give you the breath of fresh air you deserve 💚

Cheers,
